Book: How To Be Popular by Meg Cabot

Everyone wants to be popular - or at least, Stephanie Landry does. After the Super Big Gulp incident, Steph’s always been in the loser side of high school. That will all change now, she thought, because she have The Book! All she needs to do is follow the instructions in it and soon she’ll be partying with the popular kids (including total hottie Mark Finley) instead of sitting on The Hill every Saturday night hanging out with her nerdy friend Becca, and even nerdier Jason (now kinda hot, but still).

If you’re looking for a light read, this is the one for you! While this is a YA book, it can appeal to readers of all ages. It will show you the real side of a teenager’s life. Her adventures throughout high school, with her friends and families! In every decision she made, new lessons are being learned. Her journey to those discoveries are one that you should try going with! You’ll surely like Steph as much as you adored Mia Thermopolis. Meg Cabot has done it again. This book is a manual that I wished I had when I was still in high school. But, you know, I’m surely gonna try it our in college. ;)

I’ve just cleaned out my ‘bookshelf’. And I really had two copies of some book and some are hardbound and some are not. So, I’ll take care of that. I’ll be looking for new owners for these babies:

3 stars. I have just reread it the other day. The first time I read it, I don’t like it very much. The second time, I think it was a bit, well, better. Maybe I became a cynic after a year or something. I wouldn’t know. Anyways… The cover is beyond amazing! I have to at least get that out. I really believed it would be this amazing book because of that. Silly me, I know. The plot’s actually really good, contrary to people’s belief. However, it was not greatly narrated. Like, it just gives us this plot and then, bam! That’s it. Not so much history and whatever. As for the characters, I don’t find Daniel interesting. Cam’s more of an eye-candy and was more known. I’m also a bit baffled by the heroine (Luce) ‘cause she keeps mooning over a guy that is a complete jerk over her. Long story short, I think it’s a good enough read. I’m just not sure if I’ll be buying its sequels - because it’s also expensive. lol.
