I really wish “Directioners” can just let things be.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about all Directioners. I’ve been an active participant of that fandom last year. I’ve seen how passionate some are about their beliefs. I saw great praise being given by them. I also saw how they toss death threats to every single girl linked to a member of One Direction. Sometimes, they even turn on each other. A particular issue I became appalled by was when they were calling Australian directioners sluts and.. I won’t go into that.
On the last few moments of 2012, Taylor Swift got linked to Harry Styles. While I was never one of those who rooted to them, I just shrugged, said “I don’t like it”, and let them be. Why can’t some Directioners do just that? They started on bashing Taylor Swift. Calling her names that are just uncalled for. Every single tweet Taylor made since they became an item received more than 50+ replies from Directioners that are basically threatening her. There are the usual “Don’t hurt Harry” and I understand that. It’s the “You little slut, get away from him. I’ll kill you.”s that just got me so disgusted.
Sooner or later, all your attitude will make the other shoe drop. The boys may stop being open about anything at all or girls will be wary because of the harassment they’ll be receiving if they even hang out with the boys.
I get the “not liking” part. Everyone’s entitled to that. I just wish they’ll stop at saying “I don’t like that girl at all.” and won’t go into such extreme comments that are very hurtful and basically death threats.
This post is a product of seeing Tay’s tweet about 2013 and reading all of those nasty replies at it. It’s a new year and how would Tay feel when she reads that? How would you feel when you’ll be receiving hate replies from a post that is supposed to be celebratory? Think about it.
Just learn some respect. That’s all I’m saying.
